Ladies Victorian “800 silver” green onyx “poison pill” ring containing:
One (1) - 15mm by 11mm cabochon cut oval green onyx. Onyx is bezel set and bezel is framed with a double fine rope trim. The rope trim straddles the opening to the hidden compartment.
Ring has a hidden compartment under the bezel that is hinged with a latch. Said to be used to hide “poison pills” but not recommended for such use.
Perimeter of ring is trimmed with a floral
design. Shank is finished in a vine motif. Ring is from the late 1800’s and very ornate and unique.
Ring is fashioned in 800 silver and weighs 5.7 grams. Ring is stamped “800”. Ring size is 6.
This ring is in vintage/pre-owned condition and may show signs of wear, age, etc.
